Acoustic Arts have specialised in the construction of outdoor musical instruments for over fifteen years. Their designs, hand-built using recycled and industrial materials, are accessible, safe, robust and durable. Created by experienced musicians, the Playground Percussion instruments are precisely tuned and constructed to optimise the musical qualities of the materials.

Accessibility
The freestanding installations can be played from both sides by up to eight children at a time. With all pitched instruments tuned to the same key, players can work in pairs or groups to create, copy and share tunes. The Playground Percussion instruments feature a full eight note scale, allowing the player to perform a wide range of songs and nursery rhymes as detailed in the manual.

Manufacture
Materials are hand-selected and locally sourced wherever possible. Processing is kept to a minimum, and weather-resistant items such as the aluminium chimes are left uncoated. Their attractive, natural finish requires minimum maintenance and wears far better than a painted surface.
