Acoustic Arts - Outdoor Musical Instruments
Acoustic Arts have created temporary and permanent musical sculptures in diverse locations ranging from a Spanish beach to a Welsh castle, an English cathedral and a Swedish bus. Highlights include;
‘Animals’ Theatre and Green Fields, Glastonbury Festival, 1987-91. Recycled kinetic musical installations.
‘Sound and Sense Trail’ Woodside Centre, South Gloucestershire, 1994. A multi-sensory installation for pre-school blind children. Received the BT Environment Week Special Award for its imaginative and innovative approach.
‘Music Maze’ Bristol, Bradford, Liverpool, Sunderland 1995. A portable percussion playground built entirely from recycled industrial materials.
‘NomadVerkstan’ Stockholm, 1997. Construction of a percussion station on the roof of a bus.
‘Elmfield Sound Garden’ Elmfield House, Bristol, 1997-98. A trail of oak-framed interactive sculptures for young deaf children.
‘Ghost Ship’ Bath Arts Festival, 2000. A musical conversion of a pleasure boat…
